Hand-carved Knight based on the medieval Lewis Chessmen, crafted from moose antler.
Lewis Chessmen Knight – Museum-Quality Historical Chess Replica
$135.00
This hand-carved Knight is based on the well-known Lewis Chessmen, a medieval chess set dating to the 12th–13th century. The figure is crafted from naturally shed moose antler and reflects the distinctive style, posture, and expressive character seen in the original pieces found on the Isle of Lewis in 1831.
At 9 cm (3.54 inches) in height, the Knight is substantial and suitable for collection or display. Each piece is carved using traditional methods at the Algizrune Workshop, resulting in slight individual variations typical of handmade artifacts and natural materials.
The renowned Lewis Chessmen are preserved today in the National Museum of Scotland and the British Museum, and this replica aims to capture their historical presence. Custom orders for additional chess pieces or full sets are available.
