Jormungandr Serpent Pendant – Viking Age Inspired Bone or Horn Amulet
Hand-carved Norse World Serpent pendant based on Viking Age bronze designs
$35.00
This Jormungandr pendant takes its form from Viking Age bronze amulets that depicted serpents as powerful world-shaping beings. In Norse tradition, Jormungandr is the Midgard Serpent, stretching around the world and holding its balance together through constant tension.
The pendant follows early Scandinavian animal art, using spiral shapes and flowing lines rather than literal realism. This approach reflects how Viking craftsmen represented mythological creatures through rhythm, movement, and symbolism.
Each piece is carved by hand from natural bone or black buffalo horn. The carving process preserves the material’s natural character, including subtle variations in tone, grain, and surface. The horn version offers a deep, dark finish, while the bone version remains light and organic.
This amulet works well as daily jewelry, a ritual object, or a meaningful historical-inspired gift.
