Norse / Slavic Shield Pendant – Hand-Cast Brass Historical Replica
This pendant is inspired by early medieval openwork shield motifs found across Viking and Slavic lands during the 9th–10th centuries. The design echoes excavated bronze originals: a circular frame, raised nodes, and a four-part structure often interpreted either as a warrior’s round shield or an early body cross worn for protection.
Our piece follows the shield interpretation — a symbol of grounding, direction, and personal defense. Cast in solid brass and finished entirely by hand, the pendant captures the look and structure of the originals while remaining light and comfortable for daily wear.
The small variations in texture and tone come naturally from the lost-wax method, giving every pendant its own character.
