Viking / Slavic Lunula Pendant with Red Enamel in Brass
Early medieval crescent pendant hand-cast in brass with traditional hot enamel.
$38.00
This Lunula pendant is based on early medieval crescent-shaped jewelry known from Slavic and Viking territories dating to the 10th–12th century. Such pendants were among the most common personal ornaments of the period and are well documented in archaeological finds.
The pendant is made in solid brass using the traditional beeswax casting technique. After casting, real red enamel is carefully applied and fired at high temperature. Hot enamel becomes part of the metal surface, creating a durable finish that does not peel or wear like paint.
The red enamel provides contrast against the brass frame while keeping the overall form simple and historically grounded. Each pendant is finished by hand, resulting in small natural differences that reflect the traditional process.
The pendant comes ready to wear on an adjustable waxed cotton cord.
