Viking / Slavic Lunula Pendant with Turquoise Enamel in Pewter
Early medieval crescent pendant hand-cast in pewter with traditional hot enamel.
$38.00
This Lunula pendant is inspired by early medieval crescent jewelry worn across Viking and Slavic territories during the 10th–12th century. Crescent pendants of this type were widely used and appear frequently in archaeological contexts.
The pendant is cast by hand in pewter using the beeswax (lost-wax) casting technique. After casting, turquoise enamel is applied and fired at high temperature. This hot enamel process fuses the enamel directly to the metal surface, creating a durable and long-lasting finish.
The pewter body gives the pendant a softer, subdued tone, while the turquoise enamel adds visual depth without overpowering the form. Each piece is finished by hand, resulting in slight variations that reflect traditional craftsmanship.
The pendant is supplied with an adjustable waxed cotton cord and is ready to wear.
